Sunrise session in Ruissalo

This session was originally planned to be a portfolio session of a triad, but last minute the third one of them had to cancel. We decided to go anyway, and I’m glad we did! The air was freezing and grass and trees were all white from the first frost night of October. The original plan was to continue to Saaronniemi, but on the way I remembered how the narrow part of the ocean holds the mist this time of the year, so we went there instead.

The mist and sunrise were amazing, and love kept them warm. In the middle I said, as a joke, that we should take the last images in the water. For my surprise, as I was ending the session and asked for any more wishes, they ran into the ocean!

I love sunrise sessions, as the light doesn’t go out. When trying to schedule sunset into a session one has to know the exact time needed, or to be ready to continue in the dark. Yes, you have to get up a little early for sunrise sessions, but you can end them with a nice brunch and a nap, after which you still have a day ahead!
