Best party ever

We met for the very first time in 2023 for a couple’s session. After that I’ve had the pleasure of documenting two proposals and engagement photos, among other things, for Lauren and Kimmel – and somewhere along the way also befriend them. I’m always emotionally involved at my clients’ weddings, but it’s hard to describe the joy in this one, getting to be part of something we’d spent two years talking about!

Lauren knew immediately that she wants a live band to their wedding, and not any live band, but The Femmes from Boston. I’ve always spoken for live music at weddings, but even I couldn’t have known how much this one decision would do for the wedding! The dance floor was full for the whole four sets the band played, and the atmosphere was something I’ve never before experienced.

To balance the big party, the wedding started with a rehearsal dinner the night before and ended with a newlyweds’ brunch on the next morning, I was happy to document both of them. This felt like a balanced combo, as the couple had a chance to actually talk with all of their guests, many of whom had traveled a long way to be there. I’m always rooting for multiple days of wedding extravaganza, believe me, it’s worth it!

“Sonja and Tinksu captured our wedding day perfectly and completely understood the assignment for our very colorful, very fairytale inspired, and VERY concert-like wedding ceremony and reception. They both took care of not only the massive amounts of photos, but also looked after US the brides on the day with their own personal emergency kits. They are the most spectacular photography duo you could have with you on your big day.”
